The Special Exhibition of the Sword of Goujian, King of Yue is located on the second floor of the South Hall, covering an area of 600 square meters. As a national treasure and one of the four most prized treasures of the Provincial Museum, the historical stories and technological achievements reflected by the Sword of Goujian, King of Yue are exceptionally rich. For this reason, a dedicated gallery has been established to display the sword and comprehensively present both the artifact and the stories behind it. Centred around the sword, the exhibition is divided into three sections: “Yue State in the Spring and Autumn period,” “A Momentous Discovery,” and “The King of Swords.” Using the history of the State of Yue as a starting point, the exhibition introduces the captivating story behind the marriage alliance between King Zhao of Chu and King Goujian of Yue. It also explores the technological achievements of the Sword of Goujian, King of Yue through the immortal mystery it embodies.
